Teacher Development Course/
Advanced Yoga Retreat (70 YA accredited continuing education hours)
15 - 28 January 2018
Are you an intermediate/advanced yoga practitioner or yoga teacher looking for new inspiration for your practice and teaching?
Would you like to take some time for yourself, focus on your own practice and work towards intermediate and advanced asanas as well as get deeper into pranayama and meditation under a careful guidance of two experienced instructors? Join us this winter for a 2-week teachers development course at Parinama Yoga Studio in Palolem, Goa!
The aim of the course is to give you the tool to better understand your own and your students' unique needs and learn to adapt your practice and teaching to meet them using a combination of asanas, pranayama, meditation, yoga philosophy and Ayurveda. We will dive deeper into anatomy with a special focus on fascia and how our weaknesses or tightness in specific body areas relate to our emotions or traumas, explore different pranayama and meditation techniques and their influence on certain type of students, and learn how to creatively sequence classes for specific needs (both physical and emotional) and deliver them in such way that students' individual needs are met.
The full course is around 70 hours (60 contact and 10 non-contact hours - YA accredited continuing education hours) and contains:
* asana labs
* teaching methodology
Morning classes will be around 2.5 hours and will consist of dynamic Vinyasa flow sequences working towards intermediate and advanced poses as well as pranayama and meditation.
Afternoon sessions will be around 2.5 hours and will contain anatomy, adjustments, asana labs, sequencing and teaching methodology. The first week will cover mostly anatomy and asana analysis,
while the second week will focus on sequencing and teaching methodology.
This course is designed for intermediate/advanced practitioners and/or yoga teachers (70 continuing education hours accredited with Yoga Alliance).
You do not need to be able to perform advanced poses, what we require most is at least two years of regular yoga practice, good general body awareness and a desire to get a deeper understanding of yoga practice and teaching, with all its components (asanas, pranayama, meditation, yoga philosophy). If you are not sure if this course is right for you, please contact us and we will be happy to answer your questions!
Full course fee is RS 50 000 (around GBP 550 or EUR 650, depending on the current exchange rate).
This includes 70 hours (60 contact and 10 non-contact hours) - please see the detailed schedule above.
The fee DOES NOT include food or accommodation, however, we have eco-huts available for rent onsite and we are also happy to help you find budget accommodation (prices vary from around GBP 10 to GBP 50 per night, depending on the location and standard).
